Summer Camp information 2011!

The camp will begin June 20 and will run until 'July 8 (Monday to Friday).

Each week will feature a different theme:
1st week | China
2nd week | Africa
3rd week | Mexico
All laboratories will be based on the theme of the week.
In this way, the children, having fun, can explore and learn about different cultures.

Every children' s work will be used for a parade to be held on Friday, the last day of the week.

Children will be divided into 3 age groups:
1 - Children aged between 2-3 years
2 - Children aged between 3-5 years
3 - children aged between 6-12 years

The children of the first and second groups will take part in activities in the different laboratories ( 1 each day) and play with water.
The third group of children will move between the laboratories, sport activities and the other activities available, for example the sports facilities and swimming pool. They can also spend the night in the camp (they should bring a tent and sleeping bag). Children of 6 years will be allowed to stay only if they have already, in the past, spent the night outside the home and are ready for that experience.

Each teacher will be responsible for a specific task: we ask you to communicate your preference of activities that the child will follow but we underline that every child, despite the initial choice, can move between different laboratories offered. 2 teachers will act as supervisors: will run the camp to verify the situation of children and that everything is in the best possible way.

Following the pattern of costs:

1 day | Euro 70.00
1 week | Euro 300.00
2 weeks | Euro 500.00
3 weeks | Euro 650.00
Accommodation | Euro 20.00 per day

Insurance will cover any accidents that may occur 'inside the camp.

Summer Camp at Casa della Ghianda

Casa della Ghianda Summer Camp celebrated its 10th year in 2010. The camp has built an outstanding reputation as THE summer camp for children in Rome.
The summer camp caters for both day campers and overnight campers and is staffed by skilled English language and Italian speaking international staff, many of who work in the school during the year.

Day Campers

The day camp offers a variety of activities for children including:

• Swimming
• Cooking
• Painting
• Textiles- Clothes, bags,and accessories
• Jewellery making
• Paper mache
• Woodwork
• Table football
• Table tennis (ping pong)
• Football

Overnight Campers

For Casa della Ghianda, the overnight camping is something we are very proud of. We have helped very young (age 7+) first-time campers to overcome their understandable fears with love and support, so that they become seasoned campers who, the next year, help other new campers.
The overnight campers enjoy all the activities of the day camp but then stay the night with an additional meal and breakfast. Casa della Ghianda staff camp with the children and are available throughout the night.

Booking Information

Day camp runs Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm.
Overnight camp runs Monday to Thursday night following the day camp.
You can book your child for 1, 2 or 3 weeks of summer camp with a generous discount for 3 weeks of summer camp.
